Hi guys I just traded for this ford 961 wide front diesel I got it not running the old owner told me the shaft is broke in the injection pump. The injection pump is a STANADYNE DBGUCC429-8AJ that was on the tractor and he acquired a Roosa Master D/GV-C-L-485-170 off of a IH 4cyl tractor and from what my research has told me this tractor should've had a Roosa master pump from the factory. anyways from what he said the IH Roosa master pump is good and he got told that they might possibly interchange by a diesel mechanic and I was wondering if this is true? any help would be appriciated!! also how hard would this be to do by myself Im not scared to give it a shot if they are not that complicated? |

| Stanadyne and Roosa Master are synonomous, Stanadyne simply being the name that replaced the Roosa Master name. However, If I read the numbers of your two pumps correctly those two pumps are nowhere near interchangeable.
Furthermore, the dirveshafts have very different driven ends on them on most IH pumps I'm familiar with, than the early Ford's do.
Were I you, I'd look for a match donor or a pricey rebuilt pump. If your driveshaft is indeed broken, it likely means your pump is siezed and shot. |
