Were there any 8Ns with a high clearance option? I picked up an 8N and the front axle looks to be way taller than any other I have seen. The spindles are 19" from the center of the hub spindle to the top. The extra length is all below the steering stops.

Thanks for any help
CK

Tony, Not all of the tall ones are sprayers. I saw quite a few in Italy that had grape harvesting equipment hanging under their bellies. I even saw a 3 cylinder Ford 4000 that looked just like mine except that it was up on stilts with a grape harvester hanging under it.

Hello Sean , I never even thought of the grape harvesting equipment and I am sure there is some out in California also . All I was getting at is that these machines are specialized equipment they are not tractors anymore and they cannot do three point, drawbar or pto like a REAL HIGH CLEARENCE TRACTOR can do . Thanks Tony

Hello Joe , These tractors ARE NOT HIGH CLEARANCE TRACTORS , they are just crop sprayers and they are a dime a dozen not made by the factory but made by many companies over many years and fit many tractors . Every one just like this one has the sprayer tank removed from under the tractor and the wands removed from the sides . Around here in New England they were used for spraying corn , my Uncle has two of them still sitting in the Barn on Ford Chassis's but newer Blue ones with 172's in them . They ARE NOT RARE or worth anything except to scrap the kit and put the tractors back on the ground where they belong . Thanks Tony

I see your email as open on modern view also Larry, but not UD's.

I find myself switching back and forth between modern and classic view

quite a bit to see what I want to see.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

Larry;

Jerry has his email open on classic view. Look next to reply and it will say send email where as your post and mine says no email on classic view. You need to enter your email every time in the classic view reply for this to work and show send email. So I would say Jerry is using classic view. He does not have a email set up in modern view.

I looked at modern view and your post only showed a AIM button. I had to log into the modern view for your email button to show.

So all you guys that say your email is always open on modern view. Yes it is but only if the other person has a log in (registered used) and is logged into the site.

Jerry, I've said it before too. Now it makes me wonder. I don't see anywhere on either Modern or Classic View that your email is open. Does this post show that mine is open on Modern View?

I see 'no email' in this post and Larry's, but 'send email' in your first post on this thread.
I -think- I have mine set to always be open on modern, but I have to type it in each time I want it to show on classic.
Tractor Rod's hi-crop 8N is like the first picture, right? Saw it at Almelund.

Mark,
Yes like the first picture.
His rear wheels are a little different though.
They used a cast 1 piece unit to go between the original centers and the larger wheels.

Thank You all for the replies, mine has the extended spindles clearly seen in the top photo, but stock 28" wheels and tires on the rear.

Thanks again.

Yes there were aftermarket kits to make a 8n a high crop used for cotton or sugar cane. Thanks to Sean (Tx) for two of the photos.

Yes there were aftermarket versions of an 8N Hi Crop. A local fellow has a restored one with those extensions below the original spindles.
Just saw it last weekend at a tractor show.
I'm guessing they added 6-7" to the front and it has maybe 38" rubber on the back end.
I could put you in touch with the owner if you wished to talk about it with him.
My email is open.

No factory made 8N high crops ever made but who knows what some one has done to one over the years to make them fit there bill
