I found a tw 15 for $6000. I didn't look at it yet, but the guy says it needs the engine rebuilt. I asked how many hours it has, he thought around 25000. I called the NH dealer to see what a reman enigne would cost. He said $8600. But he said plan on a cluch and maybe other stuff and you could get $15000 in it pretty easy. So with the $6000 for the tractor and $15000 to fix it, you're over $20000. Is it worth the gamble I guess it what I want to know. I've run Fords my whole life, but my father in law runs Oliver/whites and I've been thinking about a 2-105 or 110, but I'd rather stick with the blue tractors. Any thoughts?

offer 2600 to 4600 based on trade in value. this one would certainly be toward the lower.

it would probly be cheaper to have the engine rebiult. does it run is it completely craped out if it still runs you could at least give it somewhat of a test run

If it has 25000 hrs it is going to need alot of work, you could be in for a nightmare, fix one thing then something else breaks. You would probably be further ahead if you just purchased a 15-20 thousand dollar machine that doesn"t need work with a third of the hours on it. If it were my I would pass on this one unless he has alot of receipts showing new parts.

I should say I also found a tw 10 for $11900, with 7300 hours. But who is to say it doesn't need an overhaul? Then you'd be in the $20000 range and only have a tw10. I don't know if the 15 or 10 would be a better buy, maybe it's a coin toss?

I"d rather have the 15 because of the turbo, and the potential for more power.

Hard to say what to do without knowing what the engine needs to have done. Make the guy a low ball offer and see what happens.
