cjtac07 08-08-2012 04:34:50 76.0.162.54 Report to Moderator	Have a 68 Ford 3000 diesel bought about 2 mouth back first diesel tractor i have had i got a gas also have worked on gas engine my hole life my question is the thing is that you have to hold the throtle all the way open to get it started i know the old one"s don"t have glow plugs but it should not be that hard to start and it will run about 20 min"s an shut down and will not start back until it cool"s down and even then you have to start it the same way it also pup"s fuel out of the pipe like its getting plenty of fuel any help would be helpful thanks. IF it immediately starts similar to the 20 minute cool down, the pump has mature wear on the internal race ring and pickup lobe contact area. Wayne   [Reply]  [No Email]

Injector pump premature wear from low sulfer fuels in older pumps without an uprated hardened pump ring is common in Bosch and Standadyne rotary pumps. In military equipment, we have seen high failures in all rotary injector pump with low suffer fuel.   [Reply]  [No Email]
