I"m mounting a Wagner walk through loader from an 8N to a 641-D (D is for Diesel) for a buddy, but I"m thinking that the front mount on the loader is about 10" to far forward to mate up to the mounting point on the tractor. I can not see an easy way to overcome this little issue. Everybody says that a 8N loader will fit on the 600 series but I don"t think it fits on the diesel. Anybody ever do this before? or have a good picture of the front mount area on their 641-D with loader? Any suggestions other than buy the right loader? |

I thought that you were trying to mount the loader. Why do you have to remove it if it isn't mounted yet? |

| In order to drill the holes that were pointed out to me earlier, I need to remove the grill and there is way no not enough clearance to get the grill off without removing the loader. But the problem is solved anyways cause the buddy I was going to install the loader for decided yesterday to buy my 300 John Deere instead. So now I got a running 641-D and a 8N with a hole in the side of the block, believe it or not it still runs and no knocks, you can look in the hole and see the rod journal. I also have 2 of the same loaders so I will take my time on installing the one on the 641-D. I got another engine block for the 8N but thats a different project. |

| I found what the scoop is. Windy Ridge Farms- http://mysite.verizon.net/oldhokie/windyridge/id17.html makes a loader bracket front mount that replaces the front axle pivot pin that the three bolt holes on the loader bolt to. Looks pretty simple except for removing the loader, tin, and front axle. I don't need to use the torch or the welder. Thanks to everyone that replied. |

| Nothing against Windy Ridge, but for $60 and all the effort of removing stuff, I think I'd just drill the 1/2" holes in place using the loader plate as a guide (as the Wagner installation manual says). |

| Got an e-mail back, the mount is NOT for the 641-d so I'll be taking your lead and drilling, still need to take all the stuff off though, no room. |

| | Which Wagner? If it's a WF3, that will indeed fit an 8N and a 600 series (and an 800 series, for that matter). The adjustment is all in the axle brackets. Your rear brackets ought to have four holes across the top, where the 3rd from the rear is elongated. An 8N uses the 3rd and 4th holes from the rear of the brackets, while the 600 uses the 1st and 3rd. If you have some other Wagner model, or non-original brackets, I'm afraid I can't offer any advice. |

| The loader is a WF3FF and the front of the loader is right up against the emblem and the farthest bolt back on the rear bracket lines up with the front bolt hole on the axle, but that doesn"t bother me, I can use my torch and welder and just put new longer brackets on, just like SG says. But whats throwing me for a loop is the front mount on the loader is 9" to far forward of the 2 bolt holes that the loader is supposed to hang from. I could build another crossmember but would have to go behind the front axle. Which would pretty make it impossible to ever remove the loader. Hard to explain, easy to see. |

| | Does the pump sit in the right place to couple to the tractor? If so, the vertical flat plate on the lower tube (the plate where the two pieces of angle iron that hold the pump support attach) should be right up against your axle support. Note also that there should be three cap screws holding the loader frame on in front, not two. Could you post a picture of what it looks like up there when it's lined up? |

| By the way, just to make sure we're all looking at the same holes, the loader bolts to the front axle support forward of the axle, right below the grille. Not to the two holes behind the axle, below the crankshaft pulley (which are indeed about 9 or 10 inches behind the place where it should bolt on). |

| I was just up underneath that gem and there are no bolt holes that that loader can bolt up to where that three hole tab is. The only holes are 9" to the rear on the front axle mount right in front of the oil pan. The diesel tractor just must have a different configuration than the gassers. If I knew how to post pictures I would. |

| | Trust me, those holes by the oil pan are no way in heck robust enough to support the front of a loader with any weight in the bucket. If you want the loader to be of any practical use, you'll need either to find another axle support that already has the holes in it, or else drill them. One of the Wagner installation manuals I have says to use a 5/8"x1-1/2" cap screw in the bottom center hole and then if there aren't any other holes there, "Through the two remaining top holes in hanger plate, drill through the front axle support of tractor. Use two 1/2" N.F. x 1-1/4" cap screws, lockwashers, and nuts to secure hanger plate to axle support." The parts manual doesn't show a separate axle support for diesel models. |

| No experience with your exact situation, sorry.
But as SG said, a torch and a welder.
I converted a trip bucket to a hydraulic tonight in about an hour.
Luckily it already had the dual spool valve. |

| | the front bolster and tranny bellhousing on a 601D is the EXACT same as a 601 gasser if both are ag models... torch n welder will make just about anything fit... |
