Topic: 3600 Ford diesel hydraulic cooler

Guys, the hydralic cooler in front of the radiator is pretty beat up and the steel lines that run to it are mangled and hang down. I would like to know if I really need these. The tractor does not have a remote and is used for shredding and garden work. Could I just tie the lines together back at the transaxle? I have a 230 MF that is a very similar tractor and it doesn't have one. Thanks for all your replies!

| your tractor should have a gear type hyd pump which creates more heat than a piston style pump. so yes I would keep the cooler for it will be a lot cheaper in the long run for you.

| Yeah... you could join the lines together and remove the cooler, but what would you gain? If it's not leaking, tidy up the steel lines and get them reattached properly and they shouldn't bother you.
The cooler is there for a reason and I don't think it's costing you anything to keep it there...Rod
