I was brush hogging the other day--all working well. Clutch is no longer working and feels softer than when working. PTO still operates. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for your help. |

| Look on the left side on the transmission, just above the starter. Their should be a model number with the serial number below it. May have to scrape paint off a little to see it. It is a 800 series, but that doesn't tell these guys what model it is. It is possibly a 860 with a two stage clutch, with problems with the one of the stages, but these guys on this site will need that info to help you. |

| 800 doesn't tell us which clutch/transmission it has. Does it have a 4 speed trans with transmission driven PTO and single stage clutch- 840? -or- Does it have a 5 speed trans with transmission driven PTO and single stage clutch- 850? -or- Does it have a 5 speed trans with Live PTO and dual stage clutch- 860? |

| If you have an 850 with a single stage clutch and a transmission driven PTO then your clutch must be working for the PTO to operate. If the clutch is soft and the tractor won't move then I say you're looking at a clutch replacement which means you will have to split the tractor between the engine and transmission. Jim.UT replaced the clutch in his 850 a year or so ago and he took many pictures of the job. Maybe he still has them and he can provide you with a link to them. |
