Craig;

Lets see if we can figure out what is wrong. I have 2 wiring diagrams for the stock 6v system on my site. The first is for a 600 with out the charging light.

The second is for the 601 with a charging light.

First thing we need to remember is that these diagrams are for standard trans so your starter button set up is differant.

Now if you look at the diagrams close you will see the first only has 1 wire to the A screw on the regulator. The second has 2 to provide a wire for the charging light. If you used the 2 wire diagram and did not install the light the motor will not shut off. The light has to be there. If this is true just remove this wire and follow the first diagram for this.

Let me know if this replay has helped you.

John

John, after I submitted post,looked on forum for other discussions and found your diagrams on photo page. Printed the 1st, rewired and tractor shuts off!!!! Previously, I had been using your 2nd drawing. Thanks so much! Next challenge is to wire lights. Will post if I have any problems but to busy to start that now.

Please notice the post. A question was asked in the modern view but did not post on the old forum. When I responded to the question my answer was added to the modern view but also started a new post in the old forum.
