Flipping tractors can be done. Unless your wife takes a shining to one and in which case your wallet is a bottomless pit. Along about the time she say's "STOP!" it has taken on a life of it' own. This is how you can put 48 forward/12 reverse gears into a TO-20. She stopped counting at 5 grand. I stopped a bit higher than that. Now it's just a case of how much money is in the account at the time of the find. Still desire to flip? Okay. where are you at? I currently have a 8N that I picked up cheap enough. It has ben torn down to wheels off, fix brakes, rewire aftermarket 12V and make it work and make tractor run. Oil pressure is very, very good. I am just outside Portland, Ore and machinery is still selling at a high price for the next month or two. I got this at the beginning of the season and have spent too long playing with it. Now I am far behind and hope to get it done this weekend. (HA!) Also, what implement are you selling with the tractor? Brush hog? Back blade? Plow? All three?! Cool! Also it helps to paint the sheet metal red. Red sells. Gray does not. Gray is ugly to the next owner. He desires red. Red is shiny. Red is pretty. Shiny and pretty sells. Red sells. Shiny. Nice. Every machine I have sold has red paint. I tried gray. The phone does not ring with gray paint. The phone rings nice with red paint. Implemets make it ring more too. You just want to buy the implememt? Okay. I sell you implemenmt at a price so my nice shiny tractor is now vaued at around $800 all Red and Shiny. Then I find another implement and do it all again. ('cuz I made money selling the last guy just the implement, at least 2X what I paid for it) Now if your in the mid west where tractors are 10 cents for a dozen you might have a bigger challenge. I have lots of hobby farmers to pick on. I just nned about 4 more of them. Some time. [Reply]  [No Email]

That # would be a 1951 TO30. Yes, old tractors are money pits. If you are doing it to flip, you will be disappointed. If you're doing it for youself, that's different. KB [Reply]  [No Email]
