Topic: What kind of felt do i need to make washers ????

well i found i company that could make the two felt washers for $50.00.also i found a company that sells all kinds of differant types of felt.a 12" x 12" piece sells for about $13.00.so i figures i would make a couple.so what grade do i need too make the two felt washers on the oiling system on a te20. |

| i got some felt and made me a couple of washers.the company i sent to didnt make that size washers but they sent me a piece of felt to make my own. |

| If you think that the bearings are installed correctly then disconnect the oil pressure gage from the engine to see if there is blockage. I always pull plugs with key off and have someone pull the the tractor in high gear to make sure there is oil pressure before trying to start. |

| That sounds an expensive way to go. Can't you find an old felt hat? I used a scap piece of packing felt (about 1/8" thick) a couple of weeks ago to make two new oil dip stick felt washers for my Jaguar. Some hobby stores sell felt or felt cut outs for a few cents for childrens hobbies. |

| The cheaper felt is made from polyester. The expensive felt is made from cotton. You might try going to an oil heat dealer and look at the replacement felt filter used in the General Brand fuel oil filters. You may be able to cut the size you need from them. Most fabric shops have felt but it is usually thin. |
