Jordan Brown 10-01-2009 10:48:24 76.5.115.24 76048 Report to Moderator	I have a to30 ferguson that the lift stopped working. I was pulling logs out of the woods with a blade and chains...and all at once the blade wouldnt lift anymore. So i got it back to my garage and with no weight the 3pt hitch will come up very slowly..but just to add my weight to it it drops back to the ground. Tore the top off and held my finger over the oil tube and has very little pressure. Let my finger off fluid comes out slowly. Took the pto shaft out and pump out. Dont know what part is bad or needs replaced...any thoughts? [Reply]   [Send Email]

It may be a gasket or an "O" ring blown, the Control Valve maybe stuck, it may not even be the Pump, it could be in the Top Cover. The linkage from the control lever and draft control need to be hooked up and aligned in order for it to work properly. I had a similar experience with my TO-30 pulling out brush. What had happened was the plate behind the spring on the top link had stretched, practically pulled out. It has 3 bolts attaching it to the lift housing. Inspect that triangle-shaped plate to see if it has been pulled out. If it has, it needs to be replaced. This causes the linkage inside to be slighty out of adjustment and will not allow full flow from the pump to operate the lift. Same symptoms occur with weight on it, it won"t lift, or it will very slowly.   [Reply]   [Send Email]

Any load should be taken on the lower link arms or a drawbar slung underneath. You should never pull from the top link connection, besides breaking it out, it is very dangerous because should the tractor grip it will lift the front wheels off the floor and turn upside down and crush the operator. It is set too high for pulling and they warn about this in the Instruction Book. The Control Valve will hold in position even without the Control Fork attached until it gets to near the ends of the valve itself and as it is shaped it will "squirt" the Control Valve out, but it will hold it in place if you need to. If the Control Fork is out of alignment have you tried adjusting the Control Lever Quadrant to overcome this?.The parts you need for the Top Link Connection are available again now.If you want to know how to reset the Control Lever, email me at:- fergusontractors@tiscali.co.uk tell me what you need and I will send it..John   [Reply]   [Send Email]

You may take the side covers off and watch with a light while the lift is trying to lift, and look for a flow in the wrong place. You know it's trying to lift, so the pump is at least turning, but it can't build any/much pressure. Big clues.   [Reply]   [No Email]
