As others said, you can use motor oil. However, I am disturbed that you refer multiple times to gear oil. The GL-1 mineral oil the manual calls for is not what we normally call gear oil these days. Gear oil as sold for automobiles and trucks has additives not good for your bearings. Gear oil is usually GL-3 or GL-5, etc., and that is NOT what you want. If you use the other suggestions and get motor oil, that's fine, but if not, get GL-1, which is available and works fine. Tractor Supply sells it, but you have to look hard, as most of what they have is gear oil, not mineral oil (GL-1). NAPA also sells it, and NAPA stores that don't carrys it can order it for you. |

| Your TO-35 takes 8 gallons if you drain it completely, which isn't easy to do. I always just put in 6 or 7 gallons and wait a day before checking and adding any more. |
