To summarize.

TO-20's and TO-30's were only made in the USA at Ferguson Park in Detroit Mi.

TE-20's including the TE-20, TEA-20 TEB-20 etc. were made in Coventry England.

To quickly tell the difference by looking
TO-20 TO-30. Look for the oil filter.
TO-30 on the right side.
TO-20 in the Pan.

For the TO-20 and the TE-20. Look at the dash/ Hood release. TO-20 one lever TE-20 two "T" handels.

The picture tells how to ID TE-20 vs. TEA-20's.

The TO-30 has the air filter inlet built into the dash, while the TO-20 does not. The serial numbers for the TO-20 are TO 00001 thru TO 60000. The serial numbers for the TO-30 are TO 60001 thru TO 140000.
The other differences have been pointed out in the other posts.

A TE-20 may have a Standard brand engine, while the TO-20 will probably have a Continental.

The TE name tag should say "Made in England" and the TO should say "Made in Canada" or "Made in USA"

For the first part of the question. The TO 20 has
a continental 120 engine with oil filter on the
bottom of the oil pan. The TO 30 has a 129 ci and
the oil filter horizontally on the side of the
engine. The TE also has the Lucas electrical and
the TO series the Delco. Chuck

the TE 20 has the steering housing and the transmission cover made as one unit, the TO 20 are separate pieces. The TO 20 has the oil filter in the oil pan the TO 30 has an external filter on right side of engine. TO 20 and TE 20 are basically the same tractor with very minor differences.

Quickest way of telling difference between a TE20 and a TO20 is, the TE20 has an aluminium type metal for the transmission case, the TO20 is made of cast iron. There are other differences too but that is quickest method as most other things could be changed.....John
