The engine on my TO30 will run a short while then stop. Other than fuel flow and the carb what other problem should I check for? It is a fresh rebuild and ran fine before the crank broke. Thanks

i have experienced a couple things over the years once a condencer went bad and another the fuel valve that screws up into the tank got small chunks of white stuff probably from the gas i would assume hope this helps.

I agree with the other poster. When it quits check for a FAT, BLUISH-WHITE SPARK by pulling the high tensin lead out of the center of the distributor cap, hlding it near a good ground and trying a start. If you don"t have the requisite FAT, BLUISH-WHITE SPARK then you need to find out why. Bad connection, corroded, burned or dirty points, bad key switch, bad connections, shorted wire, etc
If you have the required spark, then check for fuel flow by opening the tank valve, holding a suitable container under the carb, and removing the big plug on the bottom of the fuel bowl. The fuel should CONTINUOUSLY gush out like a cow peein" on a flat rock. If the flow i intermittent or just dribbles out, you may have some cloggeding in the fuel delivery system( fuel valve screen, sediment bowl screen or carb inlet screen) a kinked fuel line, a fuel bowl full of crud, or a bad float or clogged float valve.

when it quits, check to see if you have spark. Could be a coil going bad when it heats up.
