Msboy 03-15-2013 21:58:54 75.66.219.68 Report to Moderator	Hello everyone, its getting back to summer time so its time to pull the old tractor back out. This winter my hydraulic arms were lifting up all the time and would not stay down; only if you held the control down. So i dropped the pump replace both valves and got a rebuild kit for the clyinder on the pump. I replace the springs and plungers inside of it. Tighten everything back up as spec list on the bolts/nuts and now when I put the quadrant lever back inside and try to lift the arms they dont even move. I know that there is a spot that the lever has to be tighten down in but I have moved that lever in all spots. In the afternoon I'am going to take the side cover off and see if everything looks right an do a double check. Also can the top spring on the out side of the tractor have anything to do with them not lifting,"if its to tight?" [Reply]   [No Email]
samn40 03-17-2013 05:23:41 31.51.25.235 Report to Moderator	Re: hydraulic Problem in reply to Msboy, 03-15-2013 21:58:54   You have to reset the toplink mechanism, with a plough fitted and lifted you should just be able to turn the spring by hand. Then you need to set the quadrant. Set the quadrant stop 2 1/4 inches down from the front of the lever when it is fully raised Then push the lever forwards against the stop. With the engine running, the lift should stay in a float position....move the lever down 1/8th and it will drop, move it up an 1/8th and it will rise. To set this you need to slacken the 4 bolts around the quadrant and tap the complete quadrant unit back or forwards with the engine running. This takes a bit of setting as even tightening the bolts can put it out of adjustment. I will hazard a guess that this was all that was wrong in the first place? Remember these tractors do not have position control and will not hold the lift at any set position above ground. By the way have you the PTO engaged? Sam   [Reply]  [No Email]

If it is moving ok then look at the bottom of the fork and see if the fork is still connected to the control valve on the hydraulic pump. It sounds like it isn't connected to the control valve or the control valve has come apart or broken. Is the spring that hooks on the control fork over to the lift cylinder still there and not broken or came off?Read the thread right below this one, I covered how to adjust the draft control spring.   [Reply]  [No Email]

After those videos i stuck my hand in the oil to check to see if the valve was connected to the linkage. The valve was attach to it both new valve.
