| | Max, A truly beautiful restoration! In Issue 9 (Jan 2003) of Ferguson Furrows magazine, Del Gentner and I wrote an article about the M-H-F 45, a prototype of a propane-fueled tractor, otherwise mechanically identical to the F-40 and the M-H 50. 15 to 20 prototypes with high wheels were built and tested on farms in Georgia and Texas. These were not production models. When testing was done some of these tractors were rebadged and sold as F-40 tractors. Engineering approval of the M-H-F 45 was signed on April 12, 1957 but the 45 was never put into production. A few months later it became a propane version of the MF 50. There never was a production model of a F-40 propane, however. Anyone interested in a pdf copy of the story can e-mail me at pnelson239 (at) aol.com and ask for a copy (3 pages). |

| Mickey, That is one beautiful machine! I actually thought my wife and I were going to travel into your area this winter but those plans fell through. I was going to intrude into your space to get a first hand look at your incredible collection of Fergusons. (Especially 40's) I keep thinking I'll make it some time. Max |

| That is really nice!! Beautiful. When I got mine, it had also been an LP unit but not a factory one. We looked all over for the LP parts, but the lady I bought it from has a toss happy son in law and they think he threw them out when they had a clean up after her husband passed away. All I got was the hood. This is a pic of it in the back of my pickup when I brought it home. Bummer Irv |

| Oh sure. You just want to see us drool over our keyboards! That is awesome Mike. I just learned something! The hood isn't formed over the tank, the top of the tank goes thru a hole in the hood! It has that tin edging bead on it? Better than a great job! |
