DON TX 10-16-2012 20:18:28 76.196.6.124 Report to Moderator	After installing the pan, I found that there's barely enuff room to get a socket on some of the bolts and barely enuff room to get a open end wrench on to tighten the rest more than a 1/4 turn at a time. 2 of the holes are just far enuff off the bolts won't start. Got to find a way to get them started w/o removing and reaming the holes out. The cast iron is thicker, of course, and even tho they ground the pan to make room, they didn't grind enough for most. Found no filter when I dropped the pan and no spring. Anyone have the specs on the spring? DON TX [Reply]   [No Email]

Does the handle go to the bottom or top? The parts drawing shows felt washer(s) that go on top of the filter under the spring. Are these necessary? 2tractors 10-17-2012 16:31:00 207.144.5.133 Report to Moderator	Re: Filter spring size? in reply to DON TX, 10-17-2012 13:34:13   Been a while since I've been in a 20 but do remember posting the order once in the archives, I had to cut somre rungs off an old bed spring until it held the "basket" flush against the oil pan. Make sure the pipe has the center hole clear. Install the spring and basket then the felt washer then tie it with wire so it doesn't fall down then install the pan, reach inside remove wire and install filter then the round cover with gasket   [Reply]  [No Email]

Great. What do I do about that. Chances of finding a used one won't be very likely since it sounds like they damage easily. Looked in YT, Stieners and no new part available. I wonder how important it is if you change oil on a timely basis you won't have to worry about gobs or junk building up enuff to bother the filter. I'll have to think about this.
