Hauler -- John 224-531-3002

Had this fella call on moving some equipment for me. Took the information of location, delivery, etc. Says he takes a deposit up front, collects the rest on delivery (Which Ive done before with other guys I know). Have tried giving him a call to set up the transfer/learn his schedule but the number now dials into a Police Dept.?? The girl at the Police Station says its happened the last week or two. Other Publications have him advertised for hauling with a group of phone numbers across the nation; Looks like the outfit is called Collectors MotorSport Express. Will see what becomes of it and post back good or bad either way.

Noticed a few posts in the archives about people hearing from the same person, any other feedback is great before I get involved.

May use another name that was mentioned here, John Fine, Parker Bear, Pete Cummings, it all is the same, had complaints on Hemmings Motor news as well.

Did some more calling around; Saw his ad in Hemmings Motor News as well with about half a dozen other phone numbers. Called all of them, half are disconnected, the other numbers go to an answering machine, the one old lady that did answer told me I should try calling the others.

The lady at the West Hempfield Twp Police Department (where his phone now rings into) told me the guy goes by Mr. Bear.

If scammers would only spend as much time doing something productive as they put into stealing from people . . .

We cant stop these people but Ill do what I can to make his life difficult. Ill be going to every phone registry website to leave comments about his number(s) and what he is up to. I plan on stopping at the police station today to file a report, at least it will be on record.

To add more of what I know the info he gave me was to make a wire tranfer thru Wal-Mart, Gave me a code of 5403 for the company Nfinanse out of Tampa, Florida. His Account Number is 6011906310041514.

Anyone approached by this guy tell him you are not interested!!

I also called Hemmings motor news yesterday, told her the main number of 224 531-3002, right a way she said yes, we have had others complaints in the past and the number is listed as "can't advertise". I am sure another number will just be used, as you say, there were many listed.

I also used the walmart process, should have listened to the gutt feeling and walked a way. When "Pete" said he would do the job I thought it was all on the up and up, then he told me he could not get to CA in time and he would call a friend to do the job who was out that way.

I have talked with this other person several times, he had no idea what Pete was talking about, just a pawn, but he does know him or who he is and is also ------ that people are getting ripped off. My $300 was never going to go to this other person for doing the job.

Happy to talk with you about finding a solution to stop this. 802-238-4663

My transfer was sent to PA, to Parker C bear...but he told me his name was Pete, When the person at the police station tried to reach him to fix his phone a person named John Fine answered, sure all the same person.

I have this guy calling me about a load to haul. Wants $ up front via a dollar general money card bought and called into him with card and pin #. I asked for his address and he said he lived out of his truck on the road hauling all year. Thank goodness for this posting. I was very suspicious especially with the dollar general cards as the deposit. Wish I could track this loser down. I'd like to spit some beechnut in this dudes eye, introduce him to my 45.

I would be interested to know what name he used, Pete, John, Parker ? He told me the same, always on the road so that was why he wanted funds wired, yes, he should be tracked down, I for one would like my $$ back.

I have another number of someone else who knows of him, not a partner but
another hauler who may know where he is hanging his hat. He was the one who Pete said would do my haul after I sent him the deposit, this other person had no idea what Pete was talking about, he is still ripping others off.

Never pay up front deposits. They have your tractor or whatever there hauling, why do they need a deposit? He might be honest, but scammers do that also.

Dang it anyhow...!!
I knew he wasn"t right but gave him a hundred bucks anyway.

I asked him for his DOT numbers and he couldn"t produce. That should"ve been enough right there. Any driver is gonna know his number off the top of his head. When he said he wasn"t near his truck what he really meant was he wasn"t near any truck to read any number off of. Concerned I asked him his address and he gave me one. I was on my computer and in a people search thing I signed up for a good while back. I entered the address he gave me and it wasn"t whatever name it was that he gave me. He said he didn"t know what to tell me he"d been living there all his life... And what did I do? I had already bought the stupid dollar general top up card thing and figured heck with it and gave him the numbers.

That rooster sucker needs a good old fashioned beating. And I guess I need a whack in the head for being dumb enough to give him the money despite what I had to go on. Duh...

Guess if there"s any concellation it was 100 not a few hundred... Sorry to you other guys that got ripped too.

How I found this thread was doing a reverse phone look up on the number on two different sites and they both said it was invalid. So I googled it and this thread came up.

I"m going to try hopping on the top up card website and see if they can tell where the card was used or something. I still have the thing and the receipt.

Given that Wayne or Pete or The bear... or whatever he chooses to call himself is obviously computer literate and does visit this site... I'm going to refrain from tipping him off as to how he is going to eventually get caught.

The wheels are in motion and he'll get his slap on the wrist someday soon.

Google is an amazing thing. This week the jerks name is "Tom" same phone number out of IL 224-531-3002. I happened to take his calls for my husband. This guy will not leave a message and seldom remembers what his name is. I told my husband he really doesn't sound like he's all there! Go with your first hunch!

When my husband spoke with him and asked if we had a Dollar General Store, I said what? Never heard of such a quack of a story. The guy wanted 1/3 down, wired to his debit card through a Dollar General Store, sounds like a lot of money for a Dollar Store I thought.

I had my husband ask him for his DOT #, the guy hung up, and then proceeded to call back with someone else's DOT #. Google his phone number and his DOT #.

I would love to tell this guy I would wire him $5000, just to see his head spin as he sits and waits for his money to come through at the Dollar General! Hope someone can figure out a way to pick this jerk up and show him what a buck really is, how it's made and how it's earned! Sends a crappy name for the rest of us who actually work for a living, instead of expecting something for absolutely nothing.

I told my husband if he would like to throw his money out the window for some windbag, he could throw it my way and I'll go pick up his item!

Can't wait for the jerk to call back today!

ow, still doing the rip off thing, making a nice living as well. I am sure someone can come up with a plan involving walmart to bait and catch, when he is caught, I would make a road trip to see this person face to face.

WOW, glad I googled this jokers #. I was about to send him a deposit to make a haul for me. Now that I've got him on the hook wish there was a way to get LE involved and catch the sob. Any ideas? Oh.. and can someone recommend a decent hauler???
