W9 PTO issue

My W9's PTO will not fully disengage, it makes a clicking sound and will slowly spin. A light touch of the shaft will stop the spinning but I can feel the shaft clicking. To me it seems the coupling on the shaft is not fully disengaging and hanging up. Is there a way to adjust the PTO lever so it will have a longer throw?

thanks
Andrew

andrew, here is a diagram of the w-9 pto. there is a serial number break with the latter being slightly different

thanks again Glenn, I have a late one (490 so I am assuming that 35,36,37,38,7 and 44 maybe at fault...

PS. Would you know if the brake seals can be done from the outside or is a huge breakdown like the H/M ?

thanks
Andrew

from my parts book, looks just like the h and m set up. ser number 1660 and up uses pn 63 089 d for the bull pinion and brake shaft seal, then it uses either 357 969 r 91 or 45 073 d for the bull pinion shaft oil seal 63 089 d looks kind of like a felt type seal, and the other is a regular oil type seal.
