Is there any way to know a Demonstrator tractor from another? I just picked up a Farmall c with white paint on the hood, hitch and brakes but not on the rear end casting or motor. Could serial number tell anything? Any info would help.

Thanks
Rainman

Remember this demo would have been painted all white orinigaly even in the tool box. So it does not have fresh red paint on it it should be show white everywhere. look in all the hard to reach places up and under all over. If it is a real demo you will find white paint. Check serial
#47010-54411 casting code should be from first 3 months of 1950. oldiron29

I remember a large demonstration put on by IH, probably about 1953. They were especially pushing the SC with the FastHitch. Lot of other IH tractors there for farmers from all over to review and drive. Not one white tractor anywhere.

Boonvillekid, Only farmall demos in 1950
Cub, Super A and C 3)models. By 1953 they should have all been paint red and sold. oldiron29

Thanks very much. Under the hood is white. the serial number is 29462 and cast codes are 2. 7. S. on rear end cover and 2. 16. S. on transmission if that helps. Is there any record of serial numbers that were painted white?
Thank
Rainman

IH did NOT keep track of the serial numbers painted white. The best you're going to do is the criteria above, and then only SOME of those were painted white.

Most likely, your tractor was "custom" painted by a previous owner.
