424 ih steering tie rods

My 424 ih year model 1966 steering tie rod ball joints are worn out. The rod has a set screw and a clamp securing it in. I assume it is also threaded as is common with tie rods. Does anyone know for sure before I start turning on it. Additionally, there is no flat area on the rod for a wrench to turn it . I suppose vice grips are in order. Any advice/thoughts are appreciated as I really need to get these replaced.

If you are referring to the outer tie rod ends, they are set up to adjust with the axle tread width, and are not threaded... the setscrew engages a machined ring turned into the rod, and the clamp keeps everything snug.

Below is a link to the parts catalog section... there's several variations of that front axle.
