Super M's that were painted red and white

Couldn't find much on the Internet about them. Anyone know anything about super M's or other farmalls that were painted white on the grill and lower portion of the hood? Every now and then I see one, even remember as a kid great uncle had a super C like that. We have a super M like this that grandpa bought 50 some years ago. Has Donaldson style air intake with clear dust collection bowl and different style seat with a low back in stead of pan seat. Fully loaded with wheel weights and front tire mud scraper. If remember correctly different roller on swinging drawbar (much heavier than original) Has this setup for well over 50 years. Grandpa always called it an improved demo model super. Something that was modified before the number tractors came out. He bought it at a sale about 25 miles from here so I'm guessing it has not had to many owners givin the time before he acquired it.

no such thing from factory dealers in the late 50s repainted tractors to match what then had the white areas. When i got out of Army in 1960 got a M from dealer painted that way 12v gen and later seat with batt in the base CharLynn power steering live pump good tractor for 1100.

As gene said nothing special, just a super m that went into a dealer for work at some point and was painted the 450 color scheme. Years ago when a tractor would go in for major repairs ect the dealer alot of times give it a coat of paint. In the late 50's early 60's they painted some like 450's. As far as the add on it has a 400/newer roller on draw bar, sounds like a seat off a 460/560 ect. It sounds like a good tractor just not a specialized model.

450 'envy' I have a '45 m that is painted like that

Did the seat look like this? Could be a different color.
Swinging drawbar attachments with a roller were not furnished from IH for that series of tractors until may of 1952 for the super M.

That is a very similar seat only mine is black and white. Its a later super M with the battery below it. Drawbar may be from 400 or 450. Tractor is still 6 volt system, but if run on a regular bases and has fresh gas in the tank we always hand start it. Cold with chock on, two turns and one with chock off and it's running. If warmed up set to half throttle, no chock will start in two turns. Grandpas old plow tractor, says can pull Oliver 3-16" in our clay and gumbo and never loose it's step. If you ask me its over weighted with six wheel weights in each rear tire. Looks like its going to the tractor pull! Really nice tractor though.

My mistake I was thinking you were asking about a M. IH offered the drawbar roller not long after the supers came out. So tractor is probably a later one than that.
