live hyd, Christmas tree valve single action cylinders

I've got a M&W pump and Farmall Christmas tree valve I want to put on a super m. I've got an old pump housing to use for the oil tank. My only question is, seeing as how the SM has a McCormick model 31 loader with the original single action cylinders on it, and a 3pt hitch (with double action cylinders) (I use a flow splitter) will all this work?

I am asuming the loader has a trip bucket.'throw away'(no,not really) the Christmas tree.Get a 2 spool valve.Hook the loader to one spool, the 3 point to the other. On the chance your loader has a hydralic bucket, get a 3 spool instead.A bit expencive, but way better (and simpler) than a 'tree' and splitter combo, etc

Trip bucket on the loader. Come to think of it, I've got a couple of spool vales on the shelf. I may go that route.

I've set up a few M's,etc with that type system.Works very well. I even did the 3 spool once.Even thought of a 4 spool once.Loader,bucket,3 point, remote. But I couldnt see a real need. And being I would have to BUY a new 4 spool, decided against.....Put quik disconects on the bucket spool, just in case. Never needed em......

Depending on what direction you want to operate the valve to lift and lower plumb one of the pressure lines to flow free back to the reservoir.
Plumb other pressure line to the divider.
Depending on the condition of the Christmas tree spool valve the loader may leak down compared to using the side ports on a liftall unit, since they have checks. If checks work you probably notice when a heavy load is on the loader it takes some pressure pushing on the operating rod to push check ball off the seat.
Also didn't add that you need a pressure relief valve between pump and valve if going straight from pump to valve.

Yes, you either need one-way spool valves, or you need to plumb the second work port from the valve back into the reservoir.

If you just leave the second port capped off you will be deadheading the system when lowering the loader. That will cause the oil to flow through the relief valve. Lowering will be slow and the oil will quickly get hot.

Use separate spool valves for each function and eliminate the splitter valve. Plumb the 3pt up with down pressure.

Thanks by the way D Slater for your help on the smta. The oil no longer blows out the vent since I moved it out of line with the PS return line.
