H seat shock

Has anyone ever replaced the seat shock on an H with an air shock. Mine is the shock with the bolt through the one end and a stud extending from the other end. Part # 35320R93 Just thought it would be nice to adjust the seat for different weight drivers. I'm not putting a football in the spring.

Most current air shocks are so rigid that the ride would be pretty nasty. Even W?O air, the internal gas pressure will be enough to be quite a lot more lift. Try the compression and rebound on the original (new at IH would be best) before purchasing what amounts to a stick. Jim

Wind 2 seat springs together for more support. Or look for an original one with 5 notches cut into the top of the spring indicating the heaviest duty spring available at that time.

I would suggest an air bag for an air ride seat from a semi.
Google Bostrom p/n 6222086-001 as an example

They also make them for motorcycles as well.
Google Harley p/n 52282-94C for another example.

It would take a bit of measuring & shopping to find one that might work, and fit inside the spring, but they are infinitely adjustable.
