Narrowing up 1944 Farmall B

I have a 1944 Farmall B that I traded for last summer. This tractor is a solid runner and in great mechanical shape. Cosmetically she needs paint, but that will come after all of the mechanical is finished up. When I bought this tractor it came set up with a wide front end from an A. I am not even sure if this is possible project, but if it something that can be done my switching out parts I'd like to try it. I live 30 miles away from a large IH salvage yard with lots of parts for these tractors. I'm sure I could get whatever parts are needed for the conversion. Essentially I guess I would just be turning my B into an A. Thoughts?

Only part you will need is the diff shaft from an A left side. The brake drums interchange. Then you will need to cut the drawbar. Your tractor will then look like an A but it will be 4in wider b ecause you still have the right side B. You could get the steering sector and shaft and put the original narrow front back on just depends on whether you want a B or a look alike A.

I appreciate all of the advice! I took at look at it this morning and and it appears that everything literally will just bolt into place. Going to look at axle shafts today and see if I can pick one up ate a reasonable price. I plan to keep the wide front on the machine just for stability reasons if I can loosen up all of the bolts and adjust it.
