Farmall M Belt pulley drive to run hyd pump

I will be taking my loader off my 300 utility, and putting it on an M I am acquiring shortly. The pump currently runs right off the front of the 300. I will need to do some fab work, but I think the most feasible way to run it is off the belt pulley drive. I will take the pulley itself off, and run a small belt to whatever pulley I manage to get together for the pump itself.
Whats the fully throttle rpm of the belt pulley drive? The pump runs good off the front of the 300, so I will need to come up with the appropriate ratio so the pump spins at about the same rpm while running off the belt pulley drive. Thanks for any insight.
 
You can easily add a live hydraulic pump on a late 1950 M, and changing front plate on an earlier one.
 
As David G. said below add a live pump.
If you run it off pto every time you push the clutch in your pump will stop.
I know a guy that mounted on the side rail a live pump and ran it off the crank pulley. Not alot of fab work to set it up that way either.

I think it runs 988 RPM full throttle. As already stated belt pulley is
not live so when you push in on clutch it stops.Maybe you have
already considered that though.Paul

I have considered it. I'm definitely considering running it off the belt pulley.
The M is a 1944.
I am considering the belt pulley as an alternative. I would like to have it driven right off the engine.

Could you be more specific on which plate is the front plate?
 
Every time you want to shift, your going to have to wait for the belt pully pump to stop, or your going to be grinding gears.
