IH756 will not move more info

Ok so talked the the guy who just got it today. Says it will drive in the High side of the TA most of the time but once in a while will just stop then play with it some and will then go again. Will not move in the low side of the TA. Said when this first happened the guy heard a snap sort of sound from it

My brother's 684 would do a similar thing. It started with the Lo side of TA would stop pulling, then the Hi side would not lockup either. Shut engine off for 30 seconds and start again and Hi would lockup. First thought it was clutch, replaced clutch, pressure plate, bearings, ground flywheel. It still did the same the next summer. He had a TA eliminate kit installed by an old IH mechanic. No problems since. I realize 756 TA is not exactly same as 684 TA but works on same hydraulic clutch on HI and sprag on Lo side.

Sounds like it needs a TA and MCV work to me.

Time for some testing. Once the TA pressures are know we can give you a much better idea of where the problem may be.
