460 hydralic problems

Finally got the cylinder rebuilt on my 460 fast hitch. Hit the outside lever and nothing. Pulled the second lever and the hitch went down. moved second lever other direction and nothing. I guess another issue to tackle...Any suggestions on where to start

Could be the 'self centering' linkage is unhooked/damaged/missing.Early tractors used a cable arrangement.Later tractors used a series of rods from the hitch rockshaft to the valve body to self center the valve to give it 'position control'.

You are on to something, I have the rod from rock shaft under op platform, but no linkage up to the valve.
I need to start looking for parts...
Thanks

First thing you need to do before trying to find more linkages is to determine what valve you have in the third position on your tractor. If it has levers on both sides it is a tele depth lever that original fast hitch tractors came with. If lever only on one side it is the same exact valve as the other two valves, and was factory for tractors without hitch. May have one, two, or three valves from factory. If you have regular valve just hook your hoses to one of those valves and to the hitch cyl. Put that valve on Double action . If it has teledepth valve, make darn sure you hook linkage up correctly or bang , there goes the differential gears in the valve. Have seen that done.

Here are a few pictures of the linkage that is used with the tele-depth valve, but you have to have the correct style of hyd valve for this linkage to connect to.

UPDATE
It has the teledepth valve. Piston is stuck in valve. Small gear that works between outside control lever and teledepth linkage has stripped teeth. This is why the 3 pt that was on the tractor when I bought it was plumbed into the remotes on the right side of the tractor, middle control lever, instead of plumbed into the back, outside lever. I will have to rebuild the teledepth valve, find that little gear and linkage for teledepth. I have the rod that runs under platform, but everything else is missing up to that shaft sticking out of the nalve on left side.

That is the linkage I am missing! I found the breakdown on CIH site. I hope I can find valve rebuild kit as well as that gear.

Pete, I think that happened at some point in the past, that why 3pt was plumbed into middle lever

Did you ever get the hitch to operate in both directions with the middle lever or are you going to abandon the intent of the original post and restore the Tele-depth valve. People tried to help with the original problem and you are still not sure the hitch goes up and down. At least I don't see it posted here. The hitch should operate with any properly operating hydraulic system even one from another tractor.

I think those little gears are hard to find. I do not think that they are available from CNH. Salvage yards will be best sorce of parts. I know for a fact that the nylon bushings for the linkage is still available from CNH.

Just get a standard valve and replace the teladepth valve entirely. It will work like the older 400 and 450 fast hitches, but at least it will work. You'll never find the parts for the teladepth valve.

Yes I plumbed into the remote on the right and hitch moves up and down, however I'm still attempting to locate parts for the teledepth valve
