what does hyd whine mean?

Just got my newly acquired 2504 going. It has a factory loader and brackets for what may have been a backhoe. It has lots of hydraulics including 3 remote ports in different places, and the larger 17 GPM pump according to serial number.
My question is the pump makes a continuous whine like a car that's low on PS fluid. I changed both hyd. filters and added plenty of new fluid but still whines. With tractor running oil appears foamy when looking in fill plug hole. Seems like air in system, but not sure how to bleed it. Just used loader to move snow and works fine other than being kinda slow. Any ideas? Thanks

Not by the book but I have a similar tractor that I run 5 gallons over full and have no trouble , my experience, did not say this is correct.

I guess you have an industrial 504. My neighbor had a RC504 that he bought new. That tractor whined from the day he got it to the day he got ride of it. All the 504's that I have seen whine.
I don't know why but they do....

Look for an air leak on the suction side of the pump. Failed o-ring, loose clamp, split steel line or something like that on the suction side.
