Farmall A Hydraulic add on for front blade

Im looking for a way to add hydraulics to my A so I can lift my IH snow blade. I put a C Farmall block in it so it does have the hole for the hydraulic pump. I have heard of people running their hydraulics from a power steering pump that runs off the fan belt. I also saw a picture of someone running a pump with their pto on this forum. On Youtube there is a guy with an electric hydraulic pump. My question is, what is the cheapest, most simple way that would work the best? It would definitely be nice running with the original pump or the power steering pump running on the fan belt so I had live hydraulics. Electric would be the easiest but wouldnt look right.

If you have the block add the pump a resivor and a control valve and you are in business. You can get the factory lines from the pump cut rear end off to connect the valve and res and you have it. You can get a double control valve and have single way and two-way from the other.

I run mine from the pto with chain so i dont run the pump over the rated speed of 700.. Those are very good units single and two way everything all in one unit. 10gal @1000lbs

I used a power steering pump off an old Chev truck on a B I had years ago. Worked just fine for lifting the sickle bar mower I had built from a number of junk mowers I had laying around. Plumbed up up threw a control valve mounted up by the steering wheel

(quoted from post at 15:54:16 02/11/15) I put a Char-Lynn PTO unit with a chain drive from the belt pulley on a "B" Noisy but works great.

Do you know anybody who has a PTO Unit like that that theyd sell?

When I traded for my A it had a unit from a grain truck bolted on beside the generator. It was ugly as sin but worked great. It was self contained including pump, reservoir, and valve. I took it off as I didn't need hydraulics on it but I have toyed with putting it back on mounted to the drawbar and hooked to the PTO. I really don't need hydraulics on it so it would be more of a project than anything and I have enough of those. It was nice that it was contained since removal was a belt and a couple of bolts.
