Okay folks. Someone got a video on how to take the steering U joint off. I got the pin out it will move so far and then stop. I have pried on it pulled on it twisted on it.. Am I missing something.

RJ..Rig up some kind of slide hammer to pull at the
steering wheel end. Be sure the steering wheel post
is nice and loose where the shaft slides through.
Heat the heck out of the u joint and good luck. The
last one I removed I cut the darn thing off. I am
sure by now you have spoken some of the same
language I used in trying to talk it off!

Ohhhhh I'm sure there were a few things said that I'm glad the young ones were not helping me. It looks as if it has a key way.
I'm just wondering if I have to push it forward and take out the key then pull it off.

There is a key , over years it wears a deeper groove
in it resting place "causes slack" when you try to
slide the joint it is being a wedge and making it
near impossible to remove I have taken a small nail
and from the center of the joint keep it pushed back
this will help but not make it fall off.

Hmmmmmm I will have to try that
From what I have read. You cant get that u joint anymore so I want to keep it in one piece if I can.

rjc2rjc, Are you pretty good with a cutting torch, that can easily cut that off with out cutting into the stub shaft, And yes i have done it !!

WOOOOOOWHOOOOOOOOOOO I got it to come off. only took smacking it with a hammer while I was pulling on it.
