h and m draw bar

I have one that I took off a Super C. Is it the same as was used on the H? I really should find it a new home.

I,ve seen a few C/SC with hoop/horseshoe drawbar.I dont know if they will fit H.Kind of think with the right axle clamp they would work.

(quoted from post at 22:03:34 02/06/15) do the h and the m use the same horse show draw bar and mounts?

The early Ms and Hs used the same horseshoe. In later years the M may be thicker and heavier. Most of the horseshoe drawbars on Ms, as well as a few Hs, were modified by welding a steel flat bar underneath the original horseshoe, and then the holes were drilled out.

Have one from a C or SC with the axle clamps and U shaped drawbar. U is the same as a H or very close. Could measure the thickness and width to compare.
Angle iron and brace are shorter and the axle claps made for the hex axle on a C though.
Think those drawbars were for mounting some implement models like sickle mowers ETC. that also worked on a H or M.

H and M always a little different. Early H and M used vertical angles and brace rods longer than later ones. H axle clamps and bolts lighter than M. Vertical angles wider on a M than H. Although axle clamps will fit each other the M axle clamps with square tube on front side of axle don't fit into most H axle housings without work. Later tubes from like a 400 have one side that will squeeze into the H axle housings.
Picture of H and m parts manual dated 9-15-39. Lines with dots have the part number for that tractor listed on another line. Parts and numbers changed as years went by. This manual will show the early part numbers for the angles and round brace rods.

Dad bought a brand new H and 50T baler in spring
1947 and started custom baling. To prevent breaking
the drawbar he bought a second horseshoe and cut the
bent up ends off and welded the entire drawbar onto
the underside of the one on that H. No holes to
drill! He kept that heavy horseshoe every time he
traded tractors. It's on the stage II Super H he
bought in May of '68.

I've seen the one inch thick horseshoe on M's
bend/flex, but never that double drawbar on the
Super H!

Measured the U part one off a C. It is 3/4 to 25/32 thick and 2-3/4 wide. Same size as some H tractors have. Leon does yours measure the same?
