My daughter has started a project on 2 john deere 40T 's and wants a set on cultivators and maybe other implements . I know this isn't the john deere board I was hoping some other red people had this problem before and could help me . Thanks Jimmy.

Has she worked on IH/farmall before, because if not then there's your problem. I used to like JD, then I got my hands on some old red iron and I haven't looked back since then.

Well, this is potentially a fun post. At the end of the day, the bigger names in tractors in the 30'a and 40's all made good machines. different styles and options, but all good. Now, I personally bleed RED, and I love to harass the "other" guys, but at the end the day, the really important thing is, that she is interested in old iron. period.

While we like to poke fun, what we do as our hobby is what is important. Maybe I got a little too serious here, but her interest in antique tractors is what is really important.

Look at it this way, you now can have some good family fun poking fun at each other! LOL.

Perfectly ok. A JD 40T is definitely a girl's tractor.

You can't discriminate with old junk. Either preserve it all or send it all to scrap, I say.

I was thinking the same thing. It is a DBQ tractor so not even a real 2 cyl. It is a wanna be real tractor with an upright engine and foot clutch.

I really appreciate everyone's post to this as I
feel like most would do the same for there own child
we have 4 children all of them very different the
oldest doesn't won't close to a tractor the next
wants a new one next will use anything that runs and
the baby well she likes my old M but wants to mess
with these little john deere tractors. These kids
range from 28 ,26,20,14 we have 7 grandkids 10 - 6
months very blessed.
