B414 Issue

what could cause a diesel b414 miss, while at higher rpms only when NOT under a load? didnt have anything to really load it down with today, but in 4th high range could run wide open throttle without a problem up a hill, but in a lower gear just putzing around the yard try to throttle up more than half way, white smoke, missing just sounds terrible. Am i looking at injector pump problems?

Hi,
Check fuel filters, air cleaner and injector lines for leaks. Also add some Diesel injector cleaner as it could be a sticking injector. Some people recommend GM ATF as a Diesel fuel additive to prevent sticking injectors. Other problems could be valve adjustment, leaking head gasket. Usually if pump is bad it will be hard to start.

Air filter is good, fuel filter has been replaced, starts really well considering the glow plugs aren't working. I notice wetness on the return line from the injectors to the tank. I'll deal with that tomorrow and finish the new glow plug installation. Thanks for the reply!
