Engine Fit for Farmall M

Is it possible to fit a BD144 engine from a 354 IH tractor into a Farmall M? How difficult would it be?

Anything can be done. A 144 engine will make a weak kneed Farmall H out of the tractor. I can't imagine an advantage. Very nice conversions with Perkins Diesels are clean and worth while. Jim

I wouldn't put a BD engine in anything that size ,
that would be like putting a 5hp Briggs and Stratton
in a 1 ton pickup. If you don't like the m engine
put something with some torque in it or you will be
disappointed.

Earl, do you have the BD144? I've been toying with the idea of using one on another 'tinker' project.
