BN brake question

I am working on a 1946 BN. The brake bands that were on it were the ones with 2 pins and a pivot. the parts book only shows the 1 piece brake bands with the rod already attached.

Problem is, I ordered new brake bands, the ones for the 2 pins and pivot (separate rod). They say they are for the 7" brake drum, but they appear to be about 1/2" - 3/4" too short.

anyone have similar issues with repro brake bands? should I try using the older style single piece with the rod connected?

Somehow you had the wrong bands they are one piece with the rod. Never seen anything else but the band with the rod on all the many i have redone brakes. Just another example of what you can find on a old tractor as its hard o tell what someone had in mind prevously.

Thanks Gene, that is kind of what I figured. I have no problem going to the 1 piece bands. Just makes me scratch my head that the 2 piece ones in it worked, and the replacement ones don't.

Oh well, I'll get the one piece bands. Anyone need a set of brake bands for a Super A or 100?
