Question: I have a chance to buy, rather cheaply, I might add, a replacement manifold for my '43 H. It's used but is in very good condition. Anyway, my H is one of the Kerosene/distillate models, with a manifold that's barely hanging together. The replacement manifold is for a gas-only engine. Will it work on my H? Thanks.

Figured as much, but I get nervous about
interchangeability. Now I gotta get ahold of the guy
who has it, get some replacement studs and nuts and
gaskets, ensure I have enough beer to see me through
removal of the old manifold and I'm in business!

Take the "new" manifold to a machine shop & have it surfaced so there will not be any leakage when bolted to the block.

Find a pipe tape so you have good threads for new pipe and make sure pipe is long enough so the muffler doesent touch hood.

Didn't think of that, Wayne, but yeah, that's a good idea. I had to do that on my son's old Rambler a few years ago, when the manifold had to be repaired. Thanks.

I have the one you need. $30 plus shipping.

Heck, Jed, already bought one at a local tractor
salvage yard for $45. I'll go after it after the
cold snap. Thanks, though.
