UPDATE ENGINE STUCK

I went and put 2 bolts in the belt pulley hub and used a
long bar to turn the engine over backwards. It was tight and
wouldn't budge, gave it one last good yank and it broke free.
Spun it over backwards really slow for 4 revolutions the
spun it over forward 5 or 6 times. Turns over smooth with
no binding or ruff spots. I rewired the power wires to
manifold and coil, cleaned the insulators in manifold and
put tune up kit in distributor. Took the water
seperator, pump screens and all the lower fuel lines off and
started cleaning everything up. Maybe I can get the old girl
running here shortly... fingers crossed.

I got lucky today also. Engine with a miss turned out to be a rocker arm way out of adjustment. Assuming the cam shaft is ok.

The MD I used to own was stuck when I got it. I had it in high gear facing down a 10% hill with a stretchy tow strap on my jeep pulling it downward as well. Then I had a 3/4 drive socket and ratchet (Williams) with a 4 foot pipe turning the engine. After it moved a few degrees, it was back and forth till free. Jim

Jim I think the fuel that was in cylinders from when I tried to start it probably gummed it so it stuck, I was shocked when you said it was stuck, it turned over very nice with a battery a while back, glad you got it unstuck, Richard

Yeah it was TIGHT I pulled the plugs yesterday morning and put a little atf in the cylinders to soak. I power washed it really good on sunday it cleaned up really good. You were right about having a loader on it and the frame rails being broke, found a crack in the bell housing below the starting tank. Looks like it had been repaired some time ago but wasn't done very well. Talked to my buddy he is going to drill it at end of crack and pin it. Once the weather breaks a little i am hoping to get it running. Time will tell.
