1086 turbo

The turbo on the 1086 is leaking oil internally. It's the second turbo on this tractor and it's done well. There's probably 10000 hours on it so I have no complaints, the factory turbo that this one replaced started leaking at 5000 hours. When I put this turbo on I got it from IH but that was many years ago. I have no qualms about going to CIH for the new one but I just thought I'd ask you guys with more experience than me if there is another choice out there besides CIH. I'm not looking for cheap, I'm not looking for high performance, this tractor has plenty of HP for the light work it's required to do. I'm just curious if there is some other good, high quality source out there besides CIH. Jim
 
Location ,location, location. It always helps, for the location makes a difference. In MI I go to MI turbo. They rebuild them in Grand Rapids. There are a couple of others in Detroit too.
 

Northwest Iowa 30 miles away from Spencer diesel. Spencer diesel didn't enter my mind till AG in IN mentioned it.

If it were me I would get a brand new Schwitzer 3LM 466 factory replacement that you can buy through about any turbo repair shop with out a core.They are heavier duty than the Airesearch T0 4 that is probably on your tractor now.
 

Schwitzer 3LM 466. I'll mention that to them in Spencer. I think I saw in on the link AG in IN posted.
