How to tell if a farmall a is a standard a or a ai serial #177549

The serial number prefix will be "FAA" for a Farmall or "IAA" for the International. Equipment differences (listed in order of most likely to still be correct), the IAA has:
- foot speed control
- heavy duty front axle
- "INTERNATIONAL" nameplate on grill
- decal changes.

The serial number has the faa in front of it so is it a ai thanks

FAA says it is a Farmall A if it had said IAA then it would be the industrial as in AI. The AI has a square tube front axle and the A a round tube front axle

The front axle will be square, and normally has a foot throttle.
