IH Deep Freezer?

A friend is going to give me one of these freezers. Doesn't know if it works or not. Chances are it doesn't. Junk or worth it? Read they were power eaters.

My grandparents had one but it only lasted about 40 years. Not sure on energy consumption although anything compared to a current model is going to be less efficient.

If it were me I would pry the emblems off of it and take the rest
of it to the scrap yard. Even if it is still working it will really
suck the juice. Of course a modern unit will only last about ten
years whereas the IH unit is probably 50 years old. They don't
last forever though. Even if it is still working it is probably on
borrowed time.

Any more those are just as much showpieces as a F-20 tractor for any shows featuring anything IH. If not all busted up or rusted out find some one that wants it for a show piece. Had a 20 foot chest for years. Gave out in about 1970. Leak in tubes inside box could not get to.

I've got one I still use on occasion. Can fit a whole beef in it
so when I get some butchered and people can't pick it up
right away, I plug it in and keep it in there. Still works and
looks great. This one sits on bricks off the basement floor.
Maybe that's helped with the condition?
