Remote Hydraulic Control On 300U

Has anyone rebuilt a control valve for a 300u? My problem is my control will lift, but will not release. I have done the D, and S on the control and it is not that. I can hear the tractor labor when it is not in the correct position.Any ideas?

Please describe "will not release." What exactly is happening?

I agree more info needed. Handles have been known to be loose in the shaft splines, making operation sketchy. Yhere is also a down limiter on the top of the hitch cylinder that could become a one way valve. Jim

If this is like the 300 Farmall valve, I rebuilt both of mine 2 years ago. The main problem I found with mine was the centering spring. That little garter spring cost $34.00 and solved my sinking problem. If it broke and is wedged, it might cause this problem? Otherwise all the parts are available through IH to overhaul it if it is like a Farmall. I am not familiar with a 300u.

had that happen on my 350u a couple years ago I'm thinking it was the reverse flow check valve? don't remember for sure. took it apart cleaned it and it worked. check the archives for 350u hydraulic maybe.

What I mean by not releasing, I mean if I am using a haybine I can lift the header, but it will not return down.
