Old IH FARMALL memorabilia

My wife's Grandfather worked at and retired from IH. He worked at the Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois for 41 years. We found these in some of his personal effects a few years ago. They were Employee Idea Forms on how to improve the company. Seems Gramps had a knack for going GREEN. The other are kinda cool also. When sitting down with him to talk about everyday stuff, his memory escapes him, But if you talk IH /Farmall and his NAVY days he comes to life

Actually, FARMALL was about four miles straight West of the East Moline Plant. I worked at both of those plants. Not sure what dept I worked in @ E. Moline, but may have been Dept 47 too. Worked on the BIG shear line out in steel stores shearing BIG sheets of steel into smaller strips, etc. I only worked there six weeks in Jan & Feb of '77.

I turned in several cost savings suggestions at FARMALL, they always got turned down. If one would have been accepted, I'd have gotten 10% of the first year's savings. One I submitted was a $200,000/year savings, would have earned me $20,000 and saved the company $180,000.

I guess it begs the question, did you know of anyone who had their suggestion accepted and reaped the benefit?

That is truly a great treasure you have found. Very very nice and I would LOVE to see and hear more about this and the program
