Well,since you asked.
If it was mine, I would stop the rust, get rid of it, brushes and grinders, and hit those areas with red primer. Hate rust, and it spreads.
then i'd stop, and not re-paint. Good old paint looks great.
Then I'd always Keep it indoors, away from sun and rain etc.

Being from Iowa I have not seen many cotton pickers in person. If any?

With no PTO how was the cotton picker powered?

Ground driven?

Gary

Every corn picker we had (2MH 2MHD and 234) drove off the PTO. I have never seen a IH corn picker drive off the belt pulley.

I would like to see one that did. Wondering how the drive was set up to allow for the up and down motion of the picker.

Exactly! The only IH picker I know of that drove off the belt pulley was the old #24.

Our mounted picker was powered by the belt pulley fit from an F30 to a H or M. Chain drive to a pivot point over the rear axle IIRC. Jim

I wish I had it . Single fronts are my favorite, even though they go down fast in wet louisiana ground.
