Replacing a head on the 400- what will Fit?

My 400 has a cracked head. I think I will try to keep a look out for a replacement head. Which heads will fit? SMTA thru 450?

As far as i know, but dont try to put a LP gas head on with [gasoline] dome pistons. Dont laugh, i was sitting in a cafe about 80 miles from home and over heard the locals talking about one had done that or tried it, !!!
 
well, they had put it all together and the piston hit the head, And i have been looking for a Lp head for yrs and couldn't find a used one, I went over and talked to them, about it, it was long gone! It's water under the bridge.
 
I was thinking that I would try to buy a dead tractor cheaply and get what I need and resell the rest. I put a sealant in the coolant and it seems to have stopped the leak. I do not want to buy an M if the head is not going to fit.

The M head would probably work, but since the 400 head included many improvements over the M head I would be looking to buy a 400 or 450 parts tractor.
Have you looked into getting your present head fixed ?
At least, then you would know what you have, instead of buying another parts tractor with a head in much worse shape than what you have now.
