The bearing carrier that I took out had a sleeve(thin tubing) in it
the new carrier has gease zerk but no sleeve
Is the sleeve needed or where do you buy these?
Farmalls are new to me
Thanks for any advise

You are using ambiguous terminology, I THINK by "bearing carrier" you must mean "throwout bearing"???

Tap the old TO bearing off of the sleeve and install the new one in it's place.

If I am not guessing correctly, below is a link to the parts catalog. Take a look and post back!
240 clutch operating parts

Bob you are correct,my description is not good
I have a new sleeve(part 20) but my guide(part#21) is bent up at the clutch end.
can I cut off the bad end as it is about 2 inches longer than the sleeve(part#20) and still use it?
If not are these still available?
I have read references to carbon inserts,Are these necisary as mine had none?
thanks again for the help

As you cab see in the parts catalog link I posted, the inner sleeve part # is 43546D, and it appears to still be available from CIH for some $40. Since you apparently have a ball TO bearing, there's no need to worry about the carbon insert type

The sleeve is pressed into the bell housing and the bearing slides back and forth and the ends must be not bent or deformed
