Farmall H not going for scrap

I have seen this 52 H sitting in a field since at least 2003 at a friends place and the last time I was there they said it was going for scrap, so I brought it home. Engine is stuck and the distributor is missing but the sheet metal is in pretty good condition and otherwise all there. Front tires don't hold air for some reason...:) I filled the cylinders with ATF to soak for the winter but don't expect much. We'll see how it turns out.

Well Done. It will work again. Some pass on H Farmalls because they are common. What made them common was excellent design and fit to the human ergonomics. A favorite. Jim

Good for you Dan,another one saved. I have a 52 H that I saved, wasn't stuck but it had been rolled over and was neglected. You will like it,very handy tractor.

Looks like a straight old h. Glad you didnt have to hit brakes real hard of that H would have been in back of your pickup., them straps dont take a shock load very well!

One of my favorite features of the H is you ride right above the rear tires, and a little in back of them, and you look right down and see exactly where they are running.

Good job saving it. I have drug an F20, an M and a few H's home when they were being sold for scrap. Only tractor I let go for scrap was an H farmall that I stripped everything off of. All that was really left of it was a bad transmission, cracked block, welded frame and front bolster. I took all bolts, carb, pulley, you name it off it before I put it on craigslist. Not a shocker, a guy on meth showed up to buy it, so he could sell it for scrap metal to buy drugs. Kid you not, I had a 2 ton engine hoist and we lifted up the H, drove his truck under it, and we dropped it in. Boom! Blew the sides out of his truck box and ofcourse slammed his suspension down to max. He said no worries. I just shook my head and off he went. After that I started letting farmall parts and pieces go free to good homes. Being sure to vet that the person was a tractor enthusiast and not a scrapper.

good save, decent looking tractor.
Just looking at the pics, after checking the engine, under the rearend for any obvious NY ice damage,
I'd put a serious effort into getting that one running.
(effort, not $)
Lots of potential there to be a very nice machine.
Good luck
