Which IH Tractor did I use?

Sorry so vague, and it is a long story, but back in my teens (I'm 51 now) I used to help an older gentleman clean out chicken houses (layers). He had an old Super "A" with a one-arm loader, and what I thought I remembered as a fairly new (at the time - circa 1977) 454. But, it had the gear shift on top of the tranny, and was a Hi/Li 4 speed. Was there a 454 made in that configuration? Could it have been a 444? 464? Pretty sure the first number was "4".
Anyway, I ran into this gentleman's daughter recently (he passed several years ago) and she wants to get it out of her way, but wants it to go to a good home. I kinda wanted to know a little before going over to look at it (1 hour away).
I asked about the Super "A", but he gave it to a nephew before he died...

All guidance is appreciated!

Track down that Super A and Loader because the Loader is hard to find and very collectable. They will bring as much as a tractor to alot of folks. You never know...the nephew may not want it or any of it.

The other tractor could have been a 424 Gas or Diesel because we have one of those in the configuration you mention. The other models I'm not sure. See how it runs/operates and check the tires. If not running start at $750 and go up as needed. If running good it would be worth anywhere from $1,200 and up. Not retail but worth that to you to buy, fix, and use (or re-sale). A diesel version in good mechanical and cosmetic shape could fetch around $4,000 and maybe a little more.

Thanks RTR. Definitely a Diesel. I remember going to get Diesel Fuel in four metal 5 gallon cans and pouring fuel for 20 minutes to fill it up ;-) Also I will inquire about the Super "A" of her when I go.
