IH 1066 shiffter

I went to get on my 1066 in the barn the other night and it seems to be stuck in 4th. I know I didn't pull it in the barn in 4th so I'm thinking someone was screwing with it. But the shifter goes thro all gears with no resistance agaisnt it so I'm thinking somethong broke. Any ideas? I can shift the range just fine just not the gear selector

Pull the lower center cover.

You can get to the linkages thru there if ya stand on your head and hold you tongue just right. :>)

Remove the panel between the clutch and brake pedals. Look at the shaft and coupler just above the speed transmission cover. Most likely one of the pins has come out. There should be tapered groove pins to connect the shaft to the couple. If you replace the original pin with a roll pin be sure to use two, one inside the other. Use a piece of wire to make sure the pins do not come out.

THEY ARE A s** of ***** to get too and repalce the pin. And, if it has a cab OOOOHHHH NNNOOOOO
