pre-buy 2030 Brake evaluation

All,

As I continue to eval a JD 2030 loader tractor was wondering other than draining the oil, and inspecting it for metal particulate and checking the transmission screen for same, is there other things that can be done to determine the current status of brake linings?

They are a wear item. If they fail to work, the price should come down, if they work, go with it. it is not new. Jim

From a little reading the brake mechanism appears to be internal and submersed in the transmission/hydraulic system-- to replace the pad/shoes does that require a lot of disassembly and effort to accomplish?

No way to tell for sure except for debris in the
transmission-pump suction screen. Some with have
perfect braking with no linings left at all.
That's the magic of power brakes.
